Because of the harsh environmental conditions in Tibet, I needed something a bit better than the simple compact flash wallets of various offerings. This is where the 1020-UF1104 from Inanycase.com came in handy, in fact, it was just the thing needed for my trip. First, its bright yellow, which makes it easy to find in a black camera bag among mostly black contents. Second, its sort of a rubbery material that makes it easy to grab even if your hands are bit cold and/or wet like mine often were in the highlands of Tibet. Third, it cradles up to eight compact flash cards in its clam-shell case and when I say cradle, I mean it keeps the CF cards safe and secure.
The interior material has a good shock absorbing quality to it and this too works very well. When I was in the SUV one time, I took my vest off for a little more comfort during one of many, many long rides. The roads for the most part are very rough. Things in the SUV that are not secured get jostled around quite a bit and more than once my vest fell to the floor of the SUV. A few times, my vest was stepped on and I could tell by the muddy foot print, the step was right on the pocket that held one of my cases.
I value my equipment as these are the tools that I use for my work. I have to take good care of my equipment but I don't want equipment that is weak or fragile. These cases that I describe are an everyday part of my equipment and they take good care in storing my CF cards and batteries because they are fully functional, durable, and precicely what I need. I highly recommend these cases, they are not expensive (relatively speaking) but they are worth more than you pay for them. You can get these cases as well as many other similar cases for other types of media cards and even common batteries from their website directly.
